Search for Money from Tax Refunds

Nobody likes taxes, but everybody likes tax refunds. For the 2019 filing season, the IRS issued 95,737,000 refunds which totaled $260.91 Billion. Of those, 83,249,000 refunds were issued by direct deposit, meaning 12,488,000 refunds were sent by mail.

The IRS may owe you money if your refund was unclaimed or undelivered. Even if you were not required to file a federal tax return, you could still be owed money under the Earned Income Tax Credit. If this is the case, you can file a return within 3 years of the filing deadline to claim your refund. Visit http://www.irs.gov/Credits-&-Deductions/Individuals/Earned-Income-Tax-Credit

If you you haven't received a refund you claimed, you can check the status of your refund at https://www.irs.gov/refunds. If you move, you should submit a Change of Address (Form 8822) to the IRS, and you should also submit a Change of Address form to the USPS.
